I am a DPhil (PHd) student (since Jan '06), working under Ezequiel Di Paolo, in the Centre for Computational Neuroscience and Robotics (CCNR). I will be studying spatial factors in neural network development, as part of the Spatially Embedded Complex Systems Engineering (SECSE) project. Many types of network exist within a physical space, but this is often neglected by researchers. By including spatial factors in our simulations, a network's topology and dynamics are restricted in ways which may be of importance to their evolvability and behaviour. My research aims to understand some of these effects, with particular regard to neural networks. PUBLICATIONS Fine Buckley, C. L., Fine, P.A., Bullock, S. and Di Paolo, E. A., (2008).
